Spectacular Showroom Kitchen Calls on Grabill’s Custom Art Nouveau

“We do spectacular,” says Chip Tiber, president Studio 76 Kitchens & Baths in the Cleveland suburb of Twinsburg. And spectacular is what you’ll see in Studio 76’s 4,000-square-foot showroom — in particular the design firm’s most recent display that emphatically demonstrates the possibilities unleashed by the design freedom Grabill enables.

In this case, the company’s design team reached back to Art Nouveau to find inspiration for a kitchen that could be called metropolitan contemporary, although that term clearly doesn’t do it justice.

Drawing upon Grabill’s custom capabilities, Chip and his fellow designers merged an off-center, organic flow of maple doors and cabinets in a modern update of an Art Nouveau style, combined with a custom paint finish called Ash. The curved lines shaping and running through all the elements provide a unique symmetry of organic flow and balance.

That effect includes a curved island using maple 3/4-inch thick, insert-style doors with a one-inch face frame thickness and a mystic finish. The island is topped with Calcutta Gold marble and features spiral columns on each side and specialty glass side door inserts lighted from the inside by warm-glow LED lights. All cabinets and doors in the display were custom made by Grabill.

“Grabill can do just about anything we ask,” said Chip. “They provide a lot of flexibility, and will even outsource specialty items, like the spiral columns, if needed. So they offer a very complete, one-source package of design options.”

Chip also noted that Grabill is flexible in terms of a wide range of price points for both custom and standard cabinets, and can add “custom touches” for standard cabinet designs at a competitive price.

But mainly, Grabill helps Chip and his team “do spectacular.”

“Displays like this serve as a big draw for our showroom. And even if they’re not after the same scope, people will often pick out particular touches to incorporate into their own designs. The main thing is, after seeing this, customers know the kind of ‘spectacular’ we’re capable of, and that Grabill is capable of.”
