Layout Technician

Position Summary

Responsible for layout and design of all custom cabinet orders submitted by the customer. The Layout Technician is responsible for transforming the customer order to a shop floor drawing which is utilized in the production of the finished cabinet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

  • Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership of the company
  • Assist customers with design, and engineering of new products
  • Read blueprints and schematics
  • Transform customer orders to shop floor drawings utilizing Cabinet-Vision layout/design software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to accomplish company goals
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and use time efficiently
  • Passion for excellence required
  • Provide superior customer service representing the highest value to each customer including order processing and workflow to meet factory production and shipping requirements
  • Serve as a liaison between customer and production floor on product quality issues
  • Embrace a team environment where each team member is respected

  • Cabinet Vision software is preferred
  • CAD experience helpful, but not required
  • Ability to read blue prints, schematics and customer drawings
  • Cabinetry background preferred
  • Microsoft Word and Outlook experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with designers, customers, and employees
  • Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above
  • Knowledgeable in cabinet layout and design
  • Must be focused and attentive to details, and possess excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to function with interruptions and still meet deadlines
  • Required to handle multiple priorities on a daily basis
  • Problem analysis and resolution skills
