Care & Cleaning Grabill Cabinets

For an Everyday Clean

  • Use a clean, damp microfiber cloth, wringing the water out completely, to wipe down day to day messes. This will help your cabinetry look fresh and new if done on a regular basis. If any water beads form on the cabinetry, use a dry cloth to clear the surface of any water.
  • Wipe up any spills, oil, grease, or food residue as soon as possible.
  • For best results, wipe the cabinet fronts in the direction of the grain.
  • To clean the cabinet interiors, use a damp cloth with mild soap and then wipe dry.

For a Thorough Clean

  • To give your cabinetry a more thorough cleaning, and to maintain the natural, clear glow of your Grabill finish, we recommend the use of Murphy® Oil Soap at a 10/1 mixture (10 parts water, 1 part Murphy® Oil Soap). Combine this mixture in a spray bottle, spray a light mist onto a microfiber cloth, and wipe the surface with the cloth until dry.

For an Extra Deep Clean & Renewal

  • For cabinetry that needs a deep clean from heavy build-up such as dirt, oily films, and dried spills, we recommend using Guardsman® Deep Clean purifying wood cleaner. Guardsman® products contain natural oils which clean, restore and protect your wood cabinetry without wax or abrasives.
  • Before starting, test an area on the back of a door to make sure you like the end result of the Guardsman® product. This product may increase the overall sheen of your cabinetry. Once you feel confident with the results, begin polishing the front of the doors.
  • Shake the can well and spray the foam directly onto a microfiber cloth. Wipe the area until dry. Repeat the process as needed.
  • After your cabinetry looks fresh and new, follow up with Guardsman® Anytime Clean & Polish to regularly clean, shine, and protect the cabinet finish.
  • Guardsman® products are available for purchase at guardsman.com.

Cleaning High Gloss Cabinetry

  • For everyday cleaning, use a clean, soft microfiber cloth slightly dampened with a mild detergent. Carefully and gently wipe down the cabinet fronts. Never use any strong, abrasive cleaners or stiff paper towels on high gloss material as they will scratch the surface.
  • Do not use harsh cleaners that contain chemicals as they may have a negative effect on the surface.

Not Recommended for Use

  • Avoid any cloths or sponges that are abrasive. This can scratch the topcoat and change the sheen of the cabinetry.
  • When cleaning cabinetry containing glass, do not spray glass cleaner directly on the glass. Many glass cleaners use ammonia which may harm the cabinet finish. Wet the cloth with the glass cleaner and then gently wipe down the glass.
  • Do not use any harsh cleaners containing abrasive materials, harsh detergents, ammonia solutions, or waxes of any kind. Use of these types of cleaners may void the warranty.
  • Avoid leaving any damp items, such as dish rags, in contact with any wood surfaces.
  • Avoid excess heat, which may break down or discolor your finish.
